Third Eye Chakra- Using Your Sixth Sense

Third Eye Chakra
The third eye, located between the brow and above the bridge of the nose, is responsible for the connection of mind, body, and spirit. Throughout history the third eye has been believed to be correlated with the pineal gland and spiritual experiences and biorhythms, including sleep and wake time. Ajna, the ancient Sanskrit word for the third eye chakra means to perceive or command. The third eye is representative of psychic abilities such as clairvoyance and clairaudience and gives you access to enlightened states of being. The third eye is a connection to wisdom and insight, it motivates, inspires, and creates.

Balanced
A person with a a balanced third chakra will be imaginative but grounded with a sharp memory. Easily able to read between the lines, recognizing symbolism and exercising strong visualization skills. Keeping awareness to the third eye requires focus, willingness to open yourself to new perspectives and ways of seeing things. This person will not be controlled or limited by the mind's shackles, they will have a strong sense of belief in themselves and the bigger picture. A balanced third chakra is also very insightful, understanding, and compassionate towards others- oftentimes using their developed psychic abilities to better comfort someone.
Deficient
Lifeless, sluggish, passive, and ungrounded. These people will have a lack of imagination and visualization skills and are often unable to establish a vision or future for themselves. They have a strong rejection to everything spiritual or metaphysical and have no will to see the grander picture. They will have poor memory and poor dream recall yet live in a state of dreaminess all hours of the day- Often using other means to escape the real world such as video games. These people may come off as insensitive and unable to connect to other souls- or even their own soul; energetically numb.
Excessive
Lively, agitated, reactive, and aggressive. Overactive chakras indulge in psychic fantasies and illusions, also using daydreaming to escape reality in an over actively spiritual/psychic way; sometimes even going as far as hallucinating. There will be a difficulty concentrating and an egotistical attachment to psychic and spiritual abilities. Overactive third chakras come off as energetically excessive or manic, very easily upset and agitated especially when something challenges an opposing viewpoint. These people are narrow minded and cynic, also unable to show proper compassion towards others and themselves.

- Get into the sunlight! With light being the element of the third eye chakra, light therapy is one of the best ways to help boost this chakra. Spend some time outside, and if that isn't possible, look into light therapy lamps!
- Explore you limiting beliefs about yourself. Try to catch yourself when you think or say things like "I am not worth it" and remind yourself that you ARE worth it. Alternatively, when your head is telling you not to try a new instrument because your too scared of failure provides you with another opportunity to stretch your third eye muscle and BELIEVE in yourself.
